Zarra, a traveling gypsy, tries to sell her groups alpaca, Gomer, at the corner of Mount Auburn Road and William Street, Wednesday morning, Sept. 23, 2015, in Cape Girardeau. Zarra, Gomer, three dogs and her group were traveling from Kentucky to Washington state when their van broke down. They said they did not want to sell Gomer, but needed the money to fix their van. Through funding from Mac's Mission, a local not-for-profit that helps animals in need, and Dawn Flickinger, owner of Yearning 4 Yarn, the alpaca and Suboa, a 4-month-old black labrador puppy were sold. The puppy, now renamed Rainbow, is available for adoption at the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri. Gomer, now renamed Unicorn, has found a new home on a farm.
