Decorators with Forck's Lite Designs & Guttering construct a 30-foot Christmas tree with over 20,000 lights in the Vasterling Suites courtyard Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, at the corner of Broadway and North Fountain Streets in Cape Girardeau. For the first time this year, Old Town Cape is hosting a tree lighting event Friday beginning with Christmas caroling at 5:45 p.m. and live music from the Jerry Ford Ensemble, followed by the tree lighting ceremony at 6:20 p.m., led by Santa Claus himself. Holiday photos will be available after the ceremony, in addition to complimentary beverages and snacks at the Courtyard by Marriott. Top of the Marq and Baristas Coffee Bar.
