Fire agencies responded to Tipton Linen in Cape Girardeau after receiving reports of black smoke above the commercial structure at 6:54 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, in Cape Girardeau. First responders with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, Jackson Fire Rescue and the Cape Girardeau Police Department arrived on the scene; and an investigation into the cause of the incident is being conducted by the state fire marshal's office. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and the scene was released after about two and a half hours.
