More than 50 people participated in an all-day Standing Together Against National Discrimination (STAND) protest event co-hosted by Midwest Council for Civil Rights and Missouri Social Activism on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2020, in Cape Girardeau. The event featured multiple speakers and teaching sessions, information about voting and local budgets, and multiple sessions of protests and chants on the corner of Broadway and West End Boulevard.
