Hundreds gather in support of Ron Hobeck Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Bavarian Halle in Jackson. Hobeck was on duty as a Cape Girardeau County deputy in January when he suffered a stroke. Over $30,000 was raised Saturday to help the Hobeck's pay for Ron's stroke therapy.

The benefit is expected to raise over $30,000 for Hobeck to help pay for his therapy. Hobeck said the hardest  part of his recovery is, "I don't have any independence. I can't get up and get a soda like I used to".
