Ozar Kulbadal and Lord Svein Njalsson, both of St. Louis, demonstrated medieval combat Saturday on the terraces at Southeast Missouri State University. About 20 members of the Society for Creative Anachronism and the Medieval Studies group at the university displayed medieval arts and crafts, dressed in costume and held demonstrations based on their studies and understanding of life during the Middle Ages. Ola Mae Diebold practiced the Heimlich maneuver on Sister Lucille Zerr during a workshop at Southeast Hospital training volunteers for respite care. Nearly 20 people attended the workshop, which was designed to train volunteers to provide free assistance to home-bound people.
