Labor Day beauties. These lovely misses vied for honors as queen during the celebration Monday staged by the community's labor organizations. From the left, and their sponsors: Miss Charlotte Moore, painters and decorators; Miss Judy Hargraves, cement workers; Miss Barbara Followell, the queen, hotel and restaurant employees; Miss Mary Helen Miller, Chamber of Commerce and retail merchants; Miss Joan Adams, carpenters; Miss Norma Barringer, telephone workers, and Miss Glenda Henson, shoe workers.

Winners in the district women’s golf tournament at the Cape Girardeau Country Club got together in a mutual admiration group late Wednesday and from the left, are Mrs. Paul Heckemeyer, Sikeston, Class B winner; Mrs. Albert Cottle, Cape, second in Class C; Mrs. Alma Medley, Sikeston, second in Class B; Mrs. Ruth Stewart, Poplar Bluff, Class A winner; Miss Margie Hinkle, Jackson, tourney champ; Mrs. Herbert Moore, Poplar Bluff, runner-up in the championship flight; Miss Sally Conran, New Madrid, Class C winner; Mrs. B.L.
