G.D. Fronabarger left the Missourian boxes and boxes of negatives. What he didn't leave were IDs for them. Pictures of the Past features some of Frony's images we've partially identified. Jesse James of Ocala, Fla., wrote: "Mike Price, Greg Brune, Louie Loos (I think), Coach Bob Goodwin." Robert Brinkopf offered: "Picture 1 of 31 is Coach Bob Godwin... Players are Mike Price, Greg Brune, and Larry Lusk."

This picture was published Sept. 15, 1961: Probable starters for Central High School in the opening football game tonight against Cairo in Houck Stadium. It was published in the Missourian on Sept. 20, 1961, and shows Central High School's football team co-captains. Left to right are Paul Ebaugh, Cris Collie and Floyd King. An anonymous contributor wrote: "Most of these guys are 1963 graduates of CHS. Left to right,top row -- Nathaniel 'Nugget' Banks, John Ramey -- who worked at the Missourian, I understand, for many years until his untimely death; Elmer Ford, Glen Merrits, Walter Vandervort, forgot this guy's name, unknown to me. Bottom row, left to right -- Curtis Williams, long-time educator in St. Louis County; Joe Metje, Jim Stovall, Mark Headrick, Lester Miller, Jim Rust." Jesse James from Ocala, Fla., submitted the same names for the front row. For the last row of athletes, he added: "Paul Banks, ?, ?, ?, ?,, Walt Vandivort." Bill Stone added: I agree to all the players on the front row. I can identify left to right on the back row, Paul Banks, John Ramey, Elmer Ford, unidentified, Walter Vandivort, Joe Schrader and unidentified. Additional note: The late John Ramey was a reporter for the Missourian."

Here's a group of Jackson football players, possibly from 1961. Mike Masterson wrote: "The guys in this picture, left to right, are: Jim Priest, Jim Wallis, Jerry Lacey, Gene Statler, David Lichtenegger, Frank Milde. I enjoy these old pictures."
