Published Nov. 27, 1957. New Christmas decorations. New Illuminated Christmas decorations, supplementing those remaining from last year's Christmas street dress, were hung on street poles over the city this week. At the left,, Cecil Turner, and Gene Mason, Missouri Utilities linemen, install one of the new Santa Claus figures on a pole at Sprigg and Good Hope. (G.D. Fronabarger, Southeast Missourian archive) [John Voss wrote: "The gentleman on the left looks like Cecil Turner. If memory serves me right, he worked for the utility company, which hung these decorations many years ago." Bill Stone agreed: "The two are linemen for Missouri Utilities. The lineman on the left is Cecil Turner. The lineman on the right, I can't see his face well enough to identify." Deborah S. Cooper-Hoeller added: "The big guy without the hat (hanging the Santa) is Cecil Turner, who worked for the utility company forever! He was my best friend's dad, and a wonderful man!"]
