An Arkansas man is in the Scott County Jail on charges of stealing anhydrous ammonia from a local business.

John K. Ellington, 28, of Paragould, is charged with stealing anhydrous ammonia, possession of ammonia in an unapproved container and possession of chemicals with the intent to manufacture a controlled substance. His bond is set at $250,000.

According to Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell, Ellington was arrested during the early morning hours Wednesday. Numerous reports had been received from the business that someone had been stealing the ammonia. An officer was observing the business Wednesday when he located Ellington allegedly stealing the anhydrous ammonia.
