PUXICO, Mo. -- A Puxico man was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident in connection to a Saturday night wreck in Dexter, Mo., that left two Bloomfield, Mo., residents hospitalized.
According to Dexter police, an anonymous tip came in early Wednesday that led officers to a Puxico residence where they located Tommy Andrew West, 28.
West was in custody at the Stoddard County Jail on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
Authorities accused West of being the driver who rear-ended a westbound vehicle on U.S. 60 just inside the Dexter city limits at about 9 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle, driven by Anna Edwards of Bloomfield and carrying her husband, C.G. Edwards, overturned and ejected Anna Edwards, who was airlifted from the scene. She was later taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis for treatment. Her husband was taken by ambulance to a Cape Girardeau hospital. Family members report that both are improving.
