The Southeast Missourian asked first-graders at Immaculate Conception Catholic School why Easter is special to them.

Christopher Drew: "Easter is fun because you get to hunt for Easter eggs, and you get candy from the Easter bunny. Jesus rose from the dead on Easter."

Kaci Huffman: "I like making bunny rabbits for the windows of our house. We hunt eggs at my grandma's house on Easter. Easter is when Jesus rose from the dead."

Nick Stroer: "We made Easter baskets in class. We go to church and pray at the stations of the cross."

Rebecca Krydynski: "We color eggs the night before Easter. The Easter bunny takes the eggs and hides them in the house. We eat candy and go to church."

Courtney Beussink: "We paint Easter eggs for the Easter bunny at home. In school we are making a book about the stations of the cross."
