The Southeast Missourian asked juniors at Jackson High School about their preparations for Saturday's prom.

Brandy Trotter: "We have been working on it four or five months with the planning and the decorations for the prom theme, `The Titanic: My Heart Will Go On.' We had to go through lots of magazines, pick out backdrops and order souvenirs."

Allison Shinn: "We have been meeting before school for weeks to plan it. We ordered decorations from catalogs. We'll be putting it together this week and will be working pretty late Friday night. We can sign up our parents to help as volunteers. I'm excited about it."

Dana Littlepage: "We had to make a lot of decisions on what we wanted for the prom, and now all we have to do is put everything together. I've gone shopping with my mom, and I picked out a dress that I liked."

Jennifer Horst: "I'm taking a sophomore to the prom, so it's a school rule that I have to pay $15 to bring him. I found a dress, but the alterations are still not done. I going to do them myself tonight. I had to drop hints about the tux, but I think he will do a good job."

Melissa Palmer: "I am going with a group of girls, because we thought we would have more fun. That way you don't have to stay with the same guy all the time. We'll go to five different houses before the prom, and we'll have different parts of the meal at each house."
