Randy, 9, has autism, and it's frustrating for his father to see him bored. His teacher suggested specific toys that would really help keep Randy challenged and amused. Topping the list are any Dr. Seuss books, followed by 25- to 50-piece puzzles and Play-Doh with cookie cutter shapes. She said any kind of hand-held battery operated games, like Game Boy, would also make his Christmas brighter and books on tape (any level) are a great asset for this child. To help him with his motor skills a giant exercise ball, like the ones used for abdominal exercises, would help Randy.

Christmas for the Elderly

Mr. K, who currently has no income and is awaiting a response from Social Security disability, can't afford the medications he needs for a hernia and mental illness. To help him keep warm until a decision is made, he would be grateful for area rugs and a space heater. Levi jeans with a 36 waist or large shirts, gloves or sweaters would help to keep him warm considering Mr. K's old trailer has no heat and he relies on a couple of space heaters. His wish list also includes large white socks, a lamp that stands on the floor, blankets or cleaning supplies. A mop or broom would also be useful. What would really top off the season for him would be a ham, turkey, canned goods, bread, eggs and bacon.
