David A. Goncher of Cape Girardeau has been recognized by the JR Mentel Agency of St. Charles as that agency's leading producing agent during the year ended June 30.

His sales in excess of $9 million in group and individual life and disability coverage led the way.

Goncher is affiliated with Minnesota Mutual Life, a 116-year-old mutual company that earns Standard & Poor's, Moody's, AM Best's and Duff & Phelphs' highest ratings for claims-paying ability and financial solvency.

Goncher, of the David A. Goncher Agency, also recently completed course requirements in basic estate-liquidity planning and advanced estate planning in St. Louis. The two-day course is certified by the Missouri Department of Insurance for continuing education.

The Jana Jateff Unit associated with Mary Kay Cosmetics recently held its annual awards banquet at Holiday Inn here. Honored for outstanding sales were Karen Wadlow, Kelly Sikes, Marge Jackson, Sheila Venable, Evelyn Mitchem, Sharlet Giltner, Trish Eaton, Lou Mueller, Sherry Siebert, Sonya Lappe, LaDonia Beggs and Darla Beggs.

Consultants honored for top recruiting efforts were LaDonia Beggs, Darla Beggs and Lappe. Husband of the year went to Larry Lappe and Miss Go Give to Arlysse Popp.

Members of the consistency club for the year, winning a fur coat or diamond ring, were LaDonia Beggs, Darla Beggs and Lappe.

Also honored for consistency club and receiving their choice of a jeweled calculator or mink checkbook cover were Jackson, Mueller, Eaton, Siebert and Sikes.

Dr. Beverly Cleair and Kimberly Skaggs, vision therapist with Regional Eyecare Center, recently attended a four-day vision therapy seminar in Chicago.

The sessions consisted of hands-on training in vision therapy techniques and methods of testing and training perceptual development.

Instructors informed attendants of ways to incorporate vision therapy effectively into the optometry practice as they demonstrated the latest techniques in vision training.

Wilma Dooley of Jackson, sales director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, just returned from the company's 30th annual seminar in Dallas.

While in Dallas, Dooley received three days of intensive management training and was honored with several awards.

She was honored with a special luncheon for pink Cadillac car drivers, and she and her husband, Troy, also were invited to the "Mary Kay Royalty Reception" prior to awards night. On awards night, Dooley received recognition in the circle of achievement for unit sales in excess of $300,000 for the past year.
