Bids in federal building auction nearing $600,000

The auction of the former federal building in Cape Girardeau was extended by a new bid Thursday.
The high bid Thursday afternoon stood at $585,000.
Two of the four bidders have been battling for the top spot and extending the auction with last-minute offers since Friday.
The GSA will not comment on the identities of the bidders.

The GSA's suggested sale price of the 44-year-old building on Broadway is $900,000.
