Community events will be held Saturday in the 300 block of South Middle Street in honor of the late Michael S. Nabors and to raise money for a scholarship and a community center.

The first such party was held last year in September, and on Sept. 11 the second annual Michael S. Nabors Block Party will be held.

The block party will raise money to attain Nabors' dream of building a community center for Cape Girardeau citizens.
