Cape Girardeau police arrested a local man on suspicion of shooting a gun Tuesday about noon in the 400 block of South Benton Street, the department's public information officer, Richard McCall, said.

Brian Damar Cayce, 22, of Cape Girardeau is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. Bond for Cayce is set at $25,000.

Cayce could not possess a weapon because he was found guilty of felony theft in 2012. McCall could not say what type of gun was used, how many shots were fired or whether Cayce was shooting at anyone or anything. No injuries were reported.
