A fast-food restaurant owner is feeling violated, he said, after his business was burglarized for the third time in two weeks on Friday.

Joe Grojean, owner of Blimpie, 3036 William St., said the first two times, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, the suspect or suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the business. On Friday, the suspect damaged a safe inside the establishment.

"It's pretty well destroyed," Grojean said.

Police have made no arrests and are still investigating the incidents.

All three burglaries were forced entry, according to Cape Girardeau Police Department spokesman Darin Hickey. The first and third time the perpetrator broke out a window and the second time the glass front door was broken.

"It has run about $1,500 to $2,000 a burglary," Grojean said, referring to recovery costs. "I'm hoping this last time they got discouraged, because they didn't get anything. We're just afraid of it transferring to our house."
