Cape Girardeau police are still looking for suspects responsible for two shootings in the city last week.

A Thursday shooting at Delaware Park injured a 21-year-old man -- he was shot twice -- and an early Friday morning shooting Club Envy injured a 16-year-old.

The 21-year-old Cape Girardeau man was shot after he and two of his friends met at a local business and then drove to Delaware Park. The suspect, according to the victim's statement to police, emerged as soon as they all got out of the car.

Sgt. Jason Selzer, a spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Department, said police haven't been able to identify the woman who drove the victim to the park or the alleged shooter.

In the nightclub shooting, Selzer said, no one has come forward and said they know the name of the alleged shooter. Police say more than 10 shots were fired during an altercation outside the business. The 16-year-old was shot in the hand outside of the club.

A window was shot out at 721 Broadway and the window of a vehicle parked in the area was also shot, according to police.

Authorities don't believe the two incidents are connected, Selzer said.

While police are still investigating the shooting, anyone with information should contact the police department at 335-6621.
