The Cape Girardeau School Board will meet Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Public Library to discuss plans for the new school year during a board retreat and work session. Board members will discuss:n Implementation of the revised Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, including monitoring and reporting progress on a quarterly basis; and

* Expanding communication with staff, parents and the board of education regarding district initiatives.

* David Lineberry, associate executive director of the Missouri School Board Association, will discuss performance based superintendent evaluation procedures with board members.

An executive session also is planned.
