Deborah Lynn Kerber, daughter of Joe Kerber of Freeport, Ill., and Coy O. Coonts of Cape Girardeau, is the recipient of the Contact Lens Achievement Award, sponsored by Ciba Vision.

The award is presented to graduates who have shown themselves to be exceptional contact lens clinicians during their optometric training while at the same time maintaining above average academic work.

Kerber is a May 1992 graduate of the School of Optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She was a member of the American Optometric Student Association, Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Fraternity and the Yearbook staff. She also was named to the dean's list.

In 1986, Kerber received a bachelor's degree in biology from Southwest Missouri State University. She plans to practice in Florissant.
