The case of a Pemiscot County woman charged with child endangerment after her boyfriend murdered her toddler will be heard in Scott County, KZIM KSIM radio reported.
Joanie Fowler, 21, was granted a change of venue Tuesday.
Deputies responded to Fowler's home Sept. 30 in response to a child not breathing. The girl was flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., where she died the next day.
Fowler, told authorities that she and her daughter were involved in an ATV wreck. Officials learned that story was false and the mother's boyfriend had struck the child in the face with his fist.
Matthew Taylor, 23, of Bragg City, Mo., pleaded guilty in February to second-degree murder before Judge Fred Copeland. The judge sentenced him to 20 years in Missouri prison. Fowler turned herself into police for endangering the welfare of a child.
An autopsy revealed 2-year-old Lillian Fowler died of head trauma.
