Southeast Missouri State University's foreign languages department will sponsor a tour of German castles next summer to fund scholarships for foreign language majors.
Dr. Dieter Jedan, chairman of the foreign languages department, said the tour is scheduled for May 11 through 22.
"Living in a medieval castle in Germany is the ultimate educational experience and adventure," Jedan said. "We hope this tour will introduce Southeast alumni and friends to the way of life, opulence and indescribable beauty of days long gone."
Participants will visit castles in Munich, Germany; Salzburg, Austria; and other places.
The group will stay in the medieval German castle of Gotzenburg, which was built during the 15th century.
Cost of the trip is $2,495, which includes a $500 tax-deductible gift to the Southeast Missouri University Foundation, which will be used for scholarships.
Interested people should sent a $100 non-refundable deposit to Southeast's alumni office, 1 University Plaza, Cape Girardeau, 63701.
Participation is limited to 20 people. For more information, call (314) 651-2478.
