Scott Reynolds, 47, is being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $200,000 cash-only bond. A police statement says that on Feb. 17, Reynolds began to choke the victim and punched her numerous times. He allegedly pointed a .357 revolver at his fiancee's face and pulled the trigger five times at his Jackson home. The alleged assault began after the couple had an argument over a message sent to Reynolds' cell phone.

A change of judge was granted late last week. Judge Robert Wilkins from Jefferson County will preside over his case. A new court date is pending.
