COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- The parents of a 2-year-old Columbia boy who died in June now face murder charges.

An autopsy showed that Cortez Johnson died June 25 at University Hospital in Columbia from blunt force trauma to his head. Prosecutors on Thursday charged the boy's parents, 25-year-old Horace Johnson and 26-year-old Keyonda Lumpkins with second-degree murder.

Both parents were already in jail on unrelated charges.
