1st Lt. Nathan M. Murray, son of Belita and Jens Brammer of Jackson and Mike and Elaine Murray of St. Louis, Mo., and grandson of Eunice and Gene Myers of Jackson, was recently awarded Company Grade Officer of the Quarter for the 99th Security Support Squadron (SSS) in Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nev.

Murray is a 1996 graduate of Jackson High School and a 2000 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where he received his BA in criminal justice and commission to the United States Air Force through ROTC.

He is a security forces officer, working as both a flight commander and assistant operations officer for the 99th SSS. He oversees the operations of a flight of more than 65 personnel, as well as assists in the day-to-day operations of a squadron of more than 300 people, whose duty it is to provide security for the Department of Defense's largest aboveground Level 1 Weapons Storage Area.

Barring any further developments in world events, Lt. Murray will be stationed at Nellis AFB until 2004.
