Freeman McCullah, district engineer for the highway department in Sikeston, said the project will provide an additional lane to the existing roadway. Included will be construction of an interchange at Highway 61. Two new bridges will be constructed at the interchange to carry Highway 60 traffic over Highway 61, McCullah said.

Construction is expected to begin in late June and be completed by fall of 1993.
