Cynthia Seabaugh, Southeast regional coordinator for the American Heart Association, was recently named honorable mention for the Rookie of the Year Award, a national honor.

The award is designed to recognize leadership, professionalism, dedication and performance among new AHA-exempt staff members.

Seabaugh has been employed by the AHA since August 1990, and received the honor for her first complete year of employment. She was chosen from approximately 600 candidates throughout the United States.

She is formerly of Sikeston and is a member of the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
