The governor's Faith-Based & Community Service Partnership for Disaster Recovery will hold a regional conference from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 26 at Saint Francis Medical Center.
The conference will provide advice about the demands churches and other religious communities must be prepared for following a large-scale disaster. It will also address the continuing needs that communities face long after disasters and how to be prepared for a possible disaster.
Religious and volunteer leaders from Joplin, Mo., who continue to lead the community's recovery efforts, will speak about their experiences. All Missouri faith-based and volunteer organizations are invited to attend.
The event is free, and lunch will be provided. Register by email at Aren.Koenig@sema.dps.mo.gov or by telephone at 573-526-9410.
