The lawyers are none too happy with the doctors.
No, it's not because they lost a class-action lawsuit against a local clinic. It's because they're sick of losing to the medical community in the annual Doctors v. Lawyers basketball game. Sore losers.
So this month the rich have challenged the rich to a softball game to be held Aug. 19 at Arena Park.
This day isn't just a game. Starting at 4:30 p.m., the doctors, lawyers and their supporters will get down and dirty with a tailgate party. Meanwhile there will be a home run derby and a raffle. Who can pass up a chance at free stuff?
And food and drink will be at the tailgate party.
The game starts at 6 p.m.
Sure, it's a chance to see a bunch of well-to-do pillars of the community get plastered and run around a baseball diamond. But the game is also for a good cause. All the proceeds go to benefit the Community Counseling Center Foundation.
Tickets can be purchased at the center or at Arena Park on game day.
