Turner allegedly drove away from the scene of the first four collisions, and a description of his vehicle went out on the police radio.

A Missouri Highway Patrol preliminary report said patrolman Matthew Keeney spotted Turner driving eastbound on West Cape Drive and witnessed the fifth collision, which disabled Turner's vehicle. Turner then fled on foot, and the trooper pulled over and pursued him on foot.

Turner was arrested for one drug-related DWI, four counts of leaving the scene of an accident, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and assaulting a law officer.
