Central Middle School students raised funds during their lunch break for the United Way of Southeast Missouri on Friday, Sept. 30, 2011.

DARE officer Luther Bonds is dunked for a good cause, the United Way of Southeast Missouri, during the lunch recess Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 at Central Middle School in Cape Girardeau. Fifth-grader Trae McCullough hit the mark on his second throw. Students got the chance at three balls for a dollar to cool off Bonds, resource officer Dan Seger, assistant principal Rex Crosnoe and principal Mark Kiehne. The event raised $173 for the United Way.
