Linda Burns and Michael Hogan of Southeast Missouri State University have been appointed as regional judges for the 1993 National Council of Teachers of English Achievement Awards in Writing.

Over 4,000 students have been nominated for Achievement Awards in 1993. Results of the contest are to be announced in October.

The National Council of Teachers of English is made up of more than 125,000 individual teachers and institutional members at all levels of instruction, from elementary school through graduate college. The group promotes the effective teaching of the English language and literature in the nation's schools and colleges.
