The Halls, residents of Cape Girardeau, asked that their 35-acre farm north of San Dangaro Subdivision be included in the Cape Girardeau School District. It is in the Jackson School district. The family plans to live on the farm. The Halls' two children attend Alma Schrader Elementary School.

Missouri law requires that changing property from one school district to another be submitted to voters of both districts.

A simple majority in both districts was required for passage.
