Kids can be fingerprinted for safety and identification purposes on Tuesday by the Cape Girardeau police and fire departments.
Fingerprinting will take place at Pizza Hut at 215 South Kingshighway. There is no charge. Each child who is fingerprinted will receive a free Nickelodeon Kid's Cup with their favorite beverage. No purchase is necessary.
Police and fire officials urge parents to bring their kids to be fingerprinted, especially in summer, when kids are outside and spend more time away from home.
The police department will also provide literature on child safety and protecting your child from being abducted.
There will be a fire engine and police car on display for children to enjoy.
Fingerprinting will be conducted from 5-7 p.m.
