The memorial service for Madison Moshiri, 4, and Michael Jeffers, 16, will focus on healing for the community, according to Christi Guilliams, funeral director of McCombs Funeral Home.

The service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. The Rev. John Rice will officiate. There is no visitation.

Madison and Michael were shot Dec. 3 in their Jackson home. Their 2-year-old sister, Meghan Moshiri, and their mother, Katherine Moshiri, were also wounded. Meghan remains in a St. Louis hospital.

Katherine Moshiri's husband, Mir Shahin Moshiri, is suspected of shooting his family members before committing suicide.

The memorial service is expected to draw a large crowd. Seating will begin 45 minutes before the service at 5:45 p.m. Guilliams did not know how many people the church holds, but according to the church's October newsletter, the church has an average worship attendance of 443 people.

The family is requesting donations to the Moshiri Family Fund at any Bank of America as opposed to flowers or plants. Sympathy messages can be sent at www.mccombsfuneralhome.com.

Guilliams said the family has already received between 50 and 70 messages.

She was not aware of how much money had already been donated, but said medical bills are rising as Meghan remains hospitalized.
