Yu-Gi-Oh! is based on the Japanese comic book series and follows the adventures of Yugi, a high school student, and his friends, Joey, Tristan and Tea.

When Yugi's grandfather gives him a puzzle to solve, the ancient Egyptian "Millennium Puzzle," Yugi pieces together the puzzle and unexpectedly takes on mystical powers. His alter ego becomes the "King of Games." With Yugi's new powers, of course, he must do battle against various evils. Yugi is a master at a game called Duel Monsters, and the duels are a part of every episode.
