GARDEN CLUB MEMBERS ATTEND CONVENTION

Area members of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri attended the 62nd annual Convention of the federation recently in St. Louis.

Edna Ruth Fischer, Nadine Davis and Anne Foust, all of Cape Girardeau, toured the public gardens of St. Louis, and attended the convention, which met to determine the annual agenda of state and national gardening issues.

Women of this club are responsible for many of the community gardens that brighten the landscape throughout Missouri. Members also provide horticulture scholarships to the University of Missouri; share their knowledge with Scout troops, public school students, senior citizens and the disabled; maintain hiking trails through national and state forests; and contribute to world gardening and conservative efforts.

The Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri is affiliated with the National Council of State Garden Clubs, whose headquarters is in St. Louis.
