A Georgia man who committed recent bank robberies has pleaded guilty to the crime, KZIM KSIM radio reported.
Keiran Pippins, 18, of Forest Park, Ga., appeared before Judge Carol Jackson in St. Louis Tuesday and pleaded guilty to two felony counts of bank robbery by force. This follows 20-year-old Marquel Rhines' guilty plea in February.
The men were arrested Nov. 23 after they robbed the First State Community Bank in Cape Girardeau. Pippins was indicted the next day in federal court on two felony counts of bank robbery and Rhines on one count of robbing a bank. Pippins was also charged in connection with the Capaha Bank robbery Nov. 19 on North Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.
Nobody was injured in either incident and the stolen cash was fully recovered.
Rhines will be sentenced May 17. Pippins' sentencing date is pending this summer.
