Girl dies after being hit by car near Farmington

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Kaitlyn R. Prater of Farmington died late Friday after she was hit by a car on Missouri Highway 32 outside Farmington.

The patrol said Prater was trying to cross the road when she was hit. Prater was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
The driver of the car sustained minor injuries.
