Bob Corbett, former chairperson of the Department of Philosophy at Webster University in St. Louis and current president of People to People, Inc., will speak on "Haiti and the Ethics of American Foreign Policy" tonight here.

The speech will begin at 8 p.m. in Crisp Hall Auditorium on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

Corbett brings first-hand knowledge and experience of life in Haiti before and after the military coup. For the past 10 years, Corbett and his family have made about four trips to Haiti a year bringing with him medicine, technology, volunteers and other assistance to address the problems of illness, illiteracy and poverty faced by the people of that nation.

The organization People to People grew out of this work.

Corbett's talk on the crisis in Haiti and the U.S. response to it is co-sponsored by the Southeast Missouri Chapter of Fellowship of Reconciliation and the Philosophy Department of Southeast Missouri State University.

All interested persons are welcome to attend.
