An Allenville woman died in a Friday morning house fire.

According to deputy coroner Jerry Goin, Angela Schlimme, 43, who lived at 466 Penny St., died. Her cat also perished in the fire.

No one else was injured in the blaze, which occurred at about 8 a.m.

Goin said Schlimme was known by many in the area as Angela Kennedy. Goin said she has three children, none of whom were at Schlimme's residence, a mobile home, at the time of the fire.

Delta fire chief Alvin Frank said the house was 50 percent involved when fire crews arrived.

Frank said it took about 30 minutes to contain the fire.

Frank said he and other firefighters had an idea as to what caused the fire, but he didn't want to disclose it until an official investigation takes place.

Goin said an autopsy revealed carbon monoxide poisoning as a result of smoke inhalation was the cause of death.

Fire departments from Allenville and Delta responded.
