The Cape Girardeau Fire Department and Alliance Water Resources will test fire hydrants throughout the city beginning today. According to a blog post by the Cape Girardeau city government, the testing will take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. and last until about May 5. During the testing city water customers may notice slight discoloration in water or a slight decrease in water pressure. If water is discolored, the city said, it should clear up after being run about a minute. Any reductions in pressure should last a few minutes only. For more information, contact Alliance Water Resources at 339-6357 or the Cape Girardeau Fire Department at 339-6330.
