CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Fiddlers, Celtic singers and an Irish dance troupe will perform two concerts and lead workshops today and Saturday at Southern Illinois University. CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Fiddlers, Celtic singers and an Irish dance troupe will perform two concerts and lead workshops today and Saturday at Southern Illinois University.

The Southern Illinois Festival of Irish Music and Dance is in its second year.

Performers include the dancers of Celtic foot Force, fiddler Brendan Mulvihill, guitarist Zan McLeod, accordionist Billy McComiskey, singer Connie Dover, cittern and bouzouki player Roger Landes and members of The Dorians.

Concerts will begin at 7 tonight and Saturday at the McLeod Theater.

Workshops will be held all day Saturday in Pulliam Hall. To pre-register and obtain schedule information, phone (618) 536-7751

The festival is sponsored by SIU, the Carbondale Convention and Tourism Bureau, the Illinois Arts Council, the Southern Illinois Cultural Alliance and the John A. Logan Arts Development Fund.
