JACKSON -- The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its weekly concert Thursday at 8 p.m. featuring a jazz combo composed primarily of recent Jackson High School graduates.
Members include Brandon Suedekum on saxophone, Matt Pittman on bass, vocalist Sarah Jones, Kelly Hitt on piano, and Ryan Harper on percussion. They will perform both traditional and contemporary works including "Stormy Weather" and "Anthropology."
The band, under the direction of Pat Schwent, will perform "Strike Up the Band," "Trombone King," "Gallent Seventh," "Best Broadway Marches," "Southwest Saga," and a collection of hits from the movie "Robin Hood."
The band performs at the Jackson park off Route D. The concert is free. Those attending are asked to bring lawn chairs.
