The Jackson High School Marching Chiefs' Drum Majors and Majorettes, the Senior High Spear-It Dancers and the Junior High School Freshman Majorettes earned All-American Team Honors at Marching Auxiliaries Camp at SEMO held July 13-15.
Each group received invitations to appear at the half-time show during the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., and the Aloha and Hula Bowls in Hawaii.
Jude Burgfeld said that the teams would try to raise money to make the trip to the Citrus Bowl.
She also said that the local sorority Beta Sigma Phi has already decided to adopt the teams and help them raise the money for the trip.
In addition to making the All-American team, the Spear-It Team and the Jackson Twirlers won the Spirit Award at the camp.
The Jackson Senior High Twirlers were presented with the Grand Champion Trophy and the "Best" Home Routine Trophy.
The Spear-It Dancers, the Marching Chiefs Drum Majors and the Junior High Marching Freshman Twirlers also took home Grand Champion Trophies from the camp.
There were many individual awards that were won by the Jackson teams at the camp.
The camp was judged by the Marching Auxiliaries Camp that is headquartered in Dallas, Tx.
