JACKSON -- The new superintendent of Jackson schools will meet with the public today for the first time since he was selected for the position in January.
Dr. Ron Anderson will be featured from 4 to 6 this afternoon at an informal gathering at the Jackson Middle School cafeteria. The event is sponsored by the Jackson Community Teachers Association.
This is the only planned opportunity for the public to meet Anderson before he begins work July 1, said Barbara Hurst, secretary for the Jackson School Board.
Anderson, a former business teacher, previously worked as a consultant with the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. He resigned last June from the Liberty School District near Kansas City after serving 14 years as superintendent.
Besides meeting with the public, Anderson will talk with school principals in the morning and attend the school board meeting at 7:30.
