A Cape Girardeau man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of burglary in the 700 block of Dallas Street in Jackson.
Christopher Thomas Sample, 29, was charged with felony burglary, possession of burglars' tools and misdemeanor property damage.
Police responded to a call at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday about a burglary in progress. A man was seen entering the residence through a bathroom window, Jackson Police Sgt. Ryan Thieret wrote in a probable-cause statement.
Officers positioned themselves around the residence and saw Thomas leaving a gate and walking around the east side of the house, Theriet wrote. Theriet handcuffed Sample after Sample walked to his location, the officer wrote.
Sample told officers he was retrieving items he had left and had entered the house through a laundry room window.
Outside the window, officers found a snap-on screw driver was used to pry the window open, Theriet wrote. The officers also found a jacket Sample admitted was his that held several other tools, Theriet wrote.
Nothing was identified as stolen in the report.
