Jackson's school board welcomed a new member and the return of an incumbent following last week's municipal elections during Tuesday night's meeting. The board also re-elected its president and named other officers.
Returning member Brent Wills and the newly elected Paul Stoner were sworn in by board secretary Bonnie Stahlman. Wills and Stoner received the majority of the votes April 3 over Pat Wissman to take two available board seats. They will each serve a three-year term.
Terri Tomlin was re-elected by a unanimous vote as the board's president. Gerald Adams was elected vice president. The board re-appointed Stahlman as secretary and district chief financial officer Wade Bartels as treasurer.
The board also voted in support of selecting Adams as a Missouri School Boards Association representative on the board of directors for the Missouri Securities Investment Program. The program helps school districts and other municipalities to manage cash flow and investments.
Also approved were the certified election results from the bond issue election April 3, which passed with 70 percent of the vote.
The board then voted to enter closed session for discussion of legal matters, individually identifiable personnel/student records, employment, personnel evaluation, discussions of work product and real estate.
